Prototyping a Public Value Return on Investment model as part of the Public Design Review for the UK Civil Service.
‘Public design’ is a term that describes the types of design that are practised uniquely in the public sector and aim to deliver public value, including policy design and service design.
The UK Policy Design Community commissioned the Public Design Review to bring together the stewards of public design with the stewards of public value in the UK Government, to explore the role and value of public design.
Through visual strategy tools and collaborative prototyping, our team is delivering a component of this review alongside Cambridge Econometrics and the UCL Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose.
This is the first time that the UK Civil Service has comprehensively examined the value of public design, and TbD is working with a cross-disciplinary group of practitioners, civil servants and academic partners to ‘paper prototype’ a return on investment model.
